A campaign for 5e · levels 3–5

Tales of the Dasos Forest

One adventure in four chapters, below the city of waterfalls. For characters from level 3 to 5.

The world

At the southern edge of Phalia the land breaks open. The Rift, a wall of rock hundreds of miles long, drops three thousand feet from the elven plains into the wild dark of the Dasos Forest.

Deiectus clings to pillars of rock among the falls of the river. Built on bridges and stilt houses hung over the water, it is one of the few safe places in the forest. Its position and its history have made its people expert rangers, hardened by a harsh culture of their own.

The tales begin here.

The four tales

  1. Fires on the Horizon

The market is crowded, the farmers are watering their gardens and the children are playing in the woods. What could break a peace like this? “What is that? A fire? After all these days of rain?” (Level 3)

  2. The Great Hunt

Summer is about to begin, and that calls for a feast. The great hunt is not only how the village fills its stores: it is also the one chance its people have to prove their worth in public. (Level 3)

  3. The Tower of Vesanus

Old Vesanus has not been heard from in a long while. He shut himself in his tower years ago, and the owls sent to him never come back. A journey into one of the deepest parts of the forest, and an errand that may turn out harder than it looks. (Level 4)

  4. The Priestess of Tera

Ill omens come down with the waterfall. The village is frightened, shaken. The words of the village chief leave no room: “Deiectus goes to war.” But there is no place for you there: your battle is elsewhere. (Level 5)

Expansion

NaosThe village of the wood elves

Temple city of the wood elves, and their only settlement in the forest below. Few visitors are ever allowed to walk the lands of Naos: the elves of the city of trees are as silent as an arrow and as cold as a stream in spring.

Naos is a 30-page supplement. It expands the fourth tale of the Dasos Forest with the culture of the wood elves, and points at what comes next.
